The Plantic® product is available in sheet form to suit a diverse range of thermoforming applications. Plantic has extensive experience in the design and manufacture of rigid packaging. Our thermoforming operations at our Melbourne plant in Australia and at our Jena plant in Germany allow us to deliver greater value to our customers through service efficiency and conversion expertise.
Additionally, Plantic works with thermoformers around the world, offering them the benefits of bioresponsible technology and the ability to differentiate their products in the market so that they can move beyond simple price competition.
We work closely the thermoformers to customise their tool design and manufacturing operations to suit the requirements of the Plantic® product in terms of temperature, pressure and processing speed. The result is optimised operations tailored for each facility.
In 2007, Plantic entered an agreement with DuPont Packaging & Industrial Polymers to collaborate in the development and sale of renewably souced polymers made from Plantic® technology. DuPont market Plantic's starch-based sheet materials for trays and rigid packaging applications in North America, South America and Japan, extending Plantic's market for these materials. All products are marketed under the DuPont™ Biomax® brand.
